
Paulyn Swanson serves as Director of Communications for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, a position she has held since 2021 after joining the organization in 2016. She leads the APFC communications team, which oversees public information, legislative communications, media relations, digital platforms, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear, timely, and transparent communication about how the Alaska Permanent Fund is invested and managed as one of Alaska’s most treasured financial resources.
With nearly a decade at APFC and a long career in Alaska state government, Paulyn brings deep experience in public affairs, fiscal issues, and strategic communications. She is passionate about translating complex investment, policy, and governance topics into clear, accessible messages that build public understanding and trust. In her role, she works closely with leadership to ensure Alaskans and stakeholders understand how the Fund is managed, how it supports the state, and how it is positioned for long-term success.
Before joining APFC, Paulyn spent more than 15 years in Alaska state government, including senior roles with the Alaska State Legislature and as Deputy Legislative Director for Governor Parnell, giving her strong expertise in fiscal policy, public accountability, and state governance.
Paulyn holds a degree in International Studies and German from the University of Vermont and is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) through the Public Relations Society of America.
