CEO and Chief Research Officer, Callan

As CEO and Chief Research Officer, Greg Allen leads Callan and oversees all research and education groups, including global manager research, alternative investment research, capital markets research, and the Callan Institute. He serves on the Callan Management Committee, Institute Advisory Committee, and Investment Committee, which supervises all discretionary multi-manager solutions. Greg is also a member of Callan’s Board of Directors and a firm shareholder.

Greg joined Callan’s San Francisco office in 1988 as an analyst, focusing on capital markets research, asset allocation, liability analysis, and manager structure analysis. In 1993, he assumed leadership of the Operations and Capital Markets Research groups, managing a full redesign and implementation of Callan’s database and performance measurement systems. He became CEO in 2017. Greg earned an MS in applied economics and a BA in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. A frequent speaker on the institutional investment process, he has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and industry publications on investment and capital markets topics.

Board of Trustees

APFC operates under the oversight of a six-member Board of Trustees. The Board serves as fiduciaries of the Alaska Permanent Fund and is responsible for ensuring the Fund is managed in accordance with state law and the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and financial stewardship.
